Ten Colloquium students joined me, and a couple of guys from Lee County Parks & Recreation to do some butterfly garden maintenance at the Karl J Drews House and Center.
We weeded, spread around some ‘black magic’ soil, and topped it all with a nice thin layer of mulch.
The silver buttonwood was pruned to be more tree-like.
All the muhli grasses and coontie got a nice bed of soil to grab nutrients from.
During break we decorated some Collier County parks drinking cups to prepare for our next Gophers@Barefoot work days coming up this summer.
It is amazing what can be accomplished with a few tools, and strong and willing hands.
