Student teams from 10 state institutions will pitch business plans before a panel of five judges. Winners will receive cash prices ranging from $2,000 to $6,000 to use in launching their businesses. The winning team will take home the Governor’s Cup to be displayed at the university for the coming year. Teams competing come from Bethune-Cookman University, Florida Atlantic University, FGCU, Florida Polytechnic University, Florida State University, Stetson University, University of Central Florida, University of Florida, University of South Florida, and University of Tampa.
The program is presented by REEF – Roundtable of Entrepreneurship Educators of Florida
WHEN: Friday, March 31, 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Schedule of events:
- 8 a.m. – First round of competition begins
- 10:30 a.m. – Break (Judges deliberate)
- 11 a.m. – Second round for three finalists
- Noon – Awards luncheon and speakers

DETAILS: Sponsored by TAMIAMI Florida Angel Funds, the competition provides students with real-life experience at collaborating and developing products and ideas, relevant business plans and effective pitches by which to attract funding. Each team will display a prototype of its project on a table in the room.
