Join us for the return of the Eagle Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, April 13, 2014. FGCU had previously played host to the Eagle Sprint Tri in 2011 and is excited to bring the race back to campus and the Fort Myers community.
For those that are not familiar with distances in a sprint triathlon, the event features a .25 mile/400m swim, 10 mile/16.1k bike, and 3.1 mile/5k run.
The 2014 race will feature an open water swim in Lake Como, located right on campus at the FGCU Waterfront. For past participants, the running and biking routes will be very familiar to you!
The 10 mile bike will begin and end near Alico Arena, taking riders off campus south on Ben Hill Griffin Rd, across I-75 via the Estero Blvd bridge, and then looping back to campus after turning around on Three Oaks Blvd. The 5K run will conclude the event, with the course looping around campus, athletes will complete the sprint triathlon near Alico Arena.
